About Nash
Nash Snyder has been studying and working in filmmaking for over 10 years. Now based in Brooklyn, NY, he is a cinematographer, gaffer, and filmmaker whose work spans narrative, documentary, and commercial projects. When he’s not shooting films or preparing for the next set, he works as an electrician with lighting departments, maintaining a hands-on connection to the technical side of production.
He studied film production and cinematography at the Rochester Institute of Technology where he worked extensively with industry-level tools and workflows. His captsone film was shot on an ARRI Alexa Mini using Atlas lenses, gaining experience across virtual production environments, sound stages, and a wide range of on-location shoots. These experiences helped shape a practical, adaptable approach to filmmaking across varying scales of production.
Since graduating, Nash has worked as a gaffer on feature films while also continuing to freelance full-time. His experience spans camera, electric, and grip departments on both studio-scale productions and independent sets, giving him a comprehensive understanding of the collaborative nature of filmmaking.
Throughout his career, he has worked alongside award-winning cinematographers, directors, animators and writers including Steven R. Monroe, Matthew Quinn, Munjal Yagnik, Christine Banna, and Kyle Bass.
As a freelancer, his clients have included the City of Rochester, the Great American Family Channel, and the Hoochenanny Whiskey and Music Festival. Across all projects, Nash brings a practical, on-set perspective to filmmaking, while adapting to the technicals of each production.
